For centuries Vietnamese lacquerware has been prized by traders and collectors for its deep, rich colours, lustrous sheen and opulent beauty. Lacquerware is Asia's most significant contribution to the world in fine art. Vietnam together with Myanmar are considered today the leading countries in Asia for lacquerware, having preserved their tradition of craftsmanship and maintained high quality of finishing throughout the ages.
Producing lacquerware involves different craftspeople, from the ones making the wood structure to the ones applying, sanding and polishing the lacquer and finally to the ones decorating it. Each piece is a work of art!
Use a dry soft cloth to wipe away dust and moisture. Use mild soap/detergent and soft sponge to wash. Do not expose to direct sunlight or extreme heat.
Do not use strong/harsh chemicals to clean. Do not use sharp cutlery. Not dishwasher or microwave safe.
